Heceta Head Lighthouse is a spectacularly beautiful gem tucked in to the lush green cliffside of the stunning Oregon coast. If you are searching for a unique outdoor wedding venue in the Pacific Northwest, there is not a place that is more picturesque. Situated atop a protruding bluff in front of a towering Spruce forest, the charming white lighthouse with it’s red painted rooftop stands tall overlooking the wild coastline and the crashing waves below. With breathtaking views, pristine beaches, winding wooded trails, a meandering river beneath the Cape Creek Bridge, and a historical lightkeeper’s house that has been converted into a quaint and cozy bed and breakfast, the options are endless for creating beautiful wedding photographs amongst an incredibly scenic backdrop.
Whether you are planning a large wedding reception, desire a small intimate wedding, or stealing away to elope with your loved one, the choices abound for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony in this magical place. What could be more romantic and inspiring than getting married in front of a 118 year old lighthouse that has stood the test of time weathering every storm, with it’s beacon of light shining bright. A perfect symbol of strength, stability, and safety for tieing the knot! Just below the lighthouse is the innkeepers quarter’s which was built in the 1800s and converted into a bed and breakfast. It has a beautifully groomed lawn that outstretches from the side of house with a view of the lighthouse above and the sea below, and it is an ideal setting for a larger outdoor wedding and reception. For those thinking of small wedding ideas, you could rent out the entire house to share with your closest family and friends, and get married on the wrap around porch or the beautiful beach below. Staying at the bed and breakfast is like turning back the hands of time, with it’s six unique rooms and antique decor. Life seems to slow down as you sit on the porch to watch the sunset, sip hot tea by one of the two stone fireplaces, or leisurely enjoy the seven course breakfast full of local flavors and handmade treats. And for those nature lovers or the more adventurous couple, you can follow the Hobbit Trail behind the lighthouse through an enchanting forest of lofty trees and knobby roots leading to an awe inspiring view of the coastline to the north, or hike a little further to your own secluded beach to exchange your vows.
